Poet and recording artiste Queen Majeeda has accepted the invitation from the Recording Academy to join the distinguished Class of 2024.
She is among thousands of other music professionals to be invited to join this year.
Majeeda responded on her Instagram page that she was excited to join the Academy.
“I am thrilled to be a part of this year’s @RecordingAcademy New Member Class and join countless creators and professionals who serve, celebrate, and advocate for music year-round,” Majeeda said. “I am excited to contribute my unique perspective and genre as we collectively recognise musical excellence and make a lasting impact globally,” she continued.
Majeeda will have the power to make a difference for her peers in the industry, and her own poetry and music journey. As a voting member, she will have the opportunity to determine the winners of the Grammy Awards each year. Her influence will impact the future of music on an international level.
In December, Majeeda released her latest poetry album, Wedding Invitation. Her latest single from the album, Unfaithful Woman (Babylon) was released in May. She also just released another single, I Said Yes on June 28.
Majeeda has also been working on several other recording projects, as well as an e-book of poetry titled Talk of the Town. She has also been promoting her latest album at various venues in the US.
