KINGSTON, Jamaica — Very few motorists and pedestrians were seen on the streets of Kingston and Portmore, St Catherine Wednesday morning as Jamaicans awaited the arrival of Hurricane Beryl.

Reports of rain and wind from Portland and St Thomas contrasted significantly with the light rain and absence of wind Observer Online experienced on the streets of Kingston and Portmore between 9:30 am and 10:30 am.

Surf on the eastern end of Kingston Harbour was beginning to get rough when Observer Online went to the Palisadoes road.

There was also very little surf activity in Bull Bay, St Andrew at the time our news team visited.
