KINGSTON, Jamaica — Weather conditions in Hanover have begun to deteriorate in the last half hour as the island starts to feel the impact of Category 4 Hurricane Beryl.
The sky is currently overcast, and rainfall in the parish has intensified.
When Observer Online travelled through the town of Lucea early Wednesday, just a few persons were on the streets, and fewer than half a dozen vendors were spotted.
At least two supermarkets were open with customers inside.
Men were seen cleaning drains in the town on the eve of the storm and continued their efforts Wednesday morning.
Persons were also seen making last-minute efforts to secure their businesses and homes.
Conditions are similar in the resort town of Negril.
