Two charged for firearm and ammo seized in Westmoreland

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica– A man and a woman have been charged following the seizure of one firearm and several rounds of ammunition during an operation in Lennox, Darliston in Westmoreland on Sunday.

Thirty-eight-year-old Phillip Warren, otherwise called ‘Max,’ a farmer; and 22-year-old Roshelle Hacker, otherwise called ‘Rush’, both of Lennox, have each been been slapped with possession of prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition charges.

Reports from the Darliston Police are that about 5:20 am, lawmen conducted a search of Warren and Hacker’s residence, and found one Taurus pistol fitted with a magazine containing twelve 9mm rounds.

An additional 9mm round of ammunition was found loaded in the weapon and five additional 9mm rounds were found in a pouch under a bed.

Both individuals were taken into custody and were subsequently charged for the offences.

Their court date is being arranged.
