KINGSTON, Jamaica — Students across the Caribbean have a new ally in their quest for academic success.
Smartie Cards Inc, an education technology company founded by St Lucian entrepreneur and educator Rhonda Giraudy, has launched the Smartie Cards App. This innovative platform is designed to support students preparing for the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) exams, offering a dynamic, gamified approach to learning.
The Smartie Cards App is a comprehensive digital resource dedicated to enhancing academic performance. Available for free trial download on Google Play and the Apple App Store, the app covers 11 CXC subjects, including Mathematics, English, Social Studies, French, Spanish, Principles of Business, Geography, Economics, Chemistry, Biology, and History.
What sets the app apart is its design as it fosters collaboration among students, parents, and teachers with distinct portals for each group, making learning a shared and engaging experience.
All content has been meticulously prepared by experienced secondary school teachers across the Caribbean and reviewed by international professors, ensuring its relevance and quality.
Rhonda Giraudy, a mother and educator, said she developed the app after recognising the need for accessible, high-quality learning tools.
“This project started as a way to support my children’s education through effective revision strategies. Today, it has grown into a resource that I hope will help countless students across the region achieve academic excellence,” Giraudy shared.
In addition to supporting students, the app invites education enthusiasts to join its mission. Through the donors page on the Smartie Cards website, individuals and organisations can contribute towards ensuring students in need can maintain access to this valuable resource.
Smartie Cards Inc also encourages users to provide feedback on the app to continually refine and improve its offerings.
