FitFest instructors put on a high-energy demonstration at the event.
Fitfest Party and Expo, powered by Lucozade, returns this Saturday, January 25, at the NWC Sports Club in Mona, St Andrew. In a bold move to promote widespread community health and wellness, this edition of the biannual fitness celebration will be free of cost to all attendees, organisers said.
The event, running from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, promises an evening of high-energy, family-friendly activities designed to make fitness fun and accessible for everyone. According to the organisers in a press release, a special highlight of this edition is the Corporate Obstacle Challenge, where teams of five will compete for a grand cash prize of $100,000 in a test of strength, agility, and cardiovascular fitness.
“FitFest has always been about making fitness accessible and enjoyable for Jamaican families,” said Kurt Dunn, CEO of BodyByKurt Fitness and chief organiser of the event. “With the continued rising concerns about Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in our community, removing the cost barrier allows us to reach more families and impact more lives through active, healthy living.”
Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Christopher Tufton, who has personally experienced the event’s impact, strongly endorsed FitFest, inviting Jamaicans to support the event.
“It’s an exciting workout session where you dance to all genres of music, with lots of workout performances on stage. I’ve done it myself and it’s a great event focused on building that body, enjoying wellness, and this edition will also make sure you’re ready for 2025,” he said.
Michelle Farr, Senior Brand Manager at World Brands Services (A Division of GK Foods & Services Ltd), also expressed enthusiasm about the partnership.

Meanwhile, 876 Blue Mountain Spring Water has signed on as FitFest’s official Hydration Partner.

This year’s edition of FitFest features an expanded lineup of activities including Gospel Aerobics (new addition), Step and Stick Aerobics, Hip-Hop and Boot-camp sessions, various dance-fitness segments including Old School Soca, Retro Dancehall, and more as well as the Corporate Obstacle Challenge which has a registration fee of $4,000 per person.
Another highlight of FitFest is the Kiddies Village, offering a safe and entertaining environment for children while parents participate in the fitness activities. The event will also feature wellness checks and health screening including blood pressure checks, sugar testing and obesity screening; nutrition counselling, and healthy food sampling from various sponsors, the release stated.

Each sponsor will operate booths offering health screenings, product sampling, and wellness information.
Lucky attendees will have the chance to win exciting prizes, including dinner for two at The Jamaica Pegasus and a massage for two at the White Orchid Spa, organisers said.
