KINGSTON, Jamaica – Five lucky customers who signed up for Flow’s attractive Ya’ad & Road package won a cash prize of $1 million in its Christmasing campaign.

The lucky five gathered on Tuesday, January 21, at Flow’s corporate offices in Kingston for a celebration hosted in their honour and were presented with their cash prizes.

Joining the celebrants was another winner who topped Flow’s prepaid mobile promotion hosted during the same period. Across the board, the total prize money of $5.5 million, boosted both hope and optimism for the lucky winners in 2025.

“Tears came to my eyes when I got the call about the prize money. It could not have come at a better time because the last few months in 2024 was kinda tough for me,” said Jermaine Huell, one of five winners of $1 million.

Towards the end of last year, Huell, who runs a car rental business, had one vehicle stolen and another disabled due to mechanical failure.

When he first received the call about his winnings, he said he couldn’t believe his change of fortunes. However, as he arrived at Flow’s offices with the other winners on Tuesday, it became more real that being a Flow customer was about to change his life.

Kemar Russel, another winner of $1 million, said he will be reinvesting his winnings in his startup business.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Russel formed JamLynk an online store that sources and delivers fresh produce to customers. The business started well but he was forced to put it on hold as he completed his accounting degree at the University of Technology (UTech).

“This money is a dream come true because since November I have really been saying to myself ‘I’d love some extra cash to restart the business’, and then I got the call from Flow that I’ve won,” Russel shared.

For other winners, their prize money represented an opportunity to invest in their most personal possessions – their home. Treena Holness, a relatively new member of the Flow family, said she’s planning a grand home makeover as soon as she gets over the shock of winning.

“I still can’t even process it up to now that I’ve won,” she said in disbelief.

Geraldine Nembhard, who runs a small chicken farm at home with her husband in Clarendon, said she has been praying and working towards transforming their wooden-structured home to blocks.

“We have been praying for some help to finish one section of the house that is board and replace it with some blocks. We can now do that and also look at putting some of the money in the chicken farm,” said Nembhard.

The other Ya’ad & Road winner of $1 million is Janiel Blair.

Meanwhile, Lydia Walker-Landel, who has been a Flow prepaid customer for over 20 years, was filled with gratitude after collecting her $500,000 cash prize. In July, her home was badly damaged by Hurricane Beryl as the storm wreaked havoc in St Elizabeth. She said she’s now happily looking forward to restoring her home.

“I’m very grateful for this because it will allow me to do some repairs to the back of the house that was damaged by the hurricane so my family and I will be more comfortable,” she shared.

Latoy Lawrence, head of marketing, added “the Christmasing campaign was about showing appreciation to our customers for choosing Flow. Whether through great services or life-changing rewards, we are committed to adding value to our customers’ lives all the time. This ethos also reflects the core message of Christmas which is normalising all that’s great about the season and making it part of our everyday lives.”

The campaign, which ran from November 8 – January 2, rewarded customers who signed up for Flow’s Ya’ad and Road service or maintained their prepaid mobile accounts.

Each new Ya’ad & Road subscriber qualified for a supermarket gift card valued at up to $40,000 and automatically entered the grand draw. The Christmasing campaign also featured weekly giveaways.
