Electrician Charged Following Motor Vehicle Theft

ELECTRICIAN CHARGED FOLLOWING MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

Detectives attached to the Stolen Motor Vehicle Unit of the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) conducted a sting operation on Goffe Avenue, St. Jago Heights, St. Catherine, which led to the subsequent arrest and charge of a man; he was charged with Unlawful Possession of Property following an incident on Thursday, March 13.

Charged is 44-year-old Lenworth Sutherland, an electrician of Belmore Avenue, Cedar Grove, Portmore, St. Catherine.

 Reports from the police are that at about 4:00 p.m., officers conducted an intelligence-led operation during which a stolen motor vehicle was found in Sutherland’s possession bearing a fraudulent license disc, with no valid insurance and no valid Certificate of Fitness.

Following this discovery, the team conducted a special operation at Sutherland’s home at Belmore Avenue. During the search of the premises, a large quantity of motor vehicle documents was also seized. He was subsequently arrested.

He is set to appear before the St. Catherine Parish Court on Friday, March 14.
