CD Master has earned a reputation for stringing together some of dancehall and reggae’s hottest tracks on a single mixtape. He spent his early years in the industry honing his skills in that arena before transitioning to music production.

Today, having built a solid relationship with the biggest talents in Jamaica, CD Master is looking to further cement his place as a producer with a scorching new project.

Exploiting the talents of several industry stalwarts, CD Master is now promoting his reggae project, the consequences rhythm.

Released the first week in April, the work features songs from the likes of Chino McGregor, Bugle, Queen Ifrica, and Mr G; as well as newcomers Yahsha Elishua, Mackeehan, Lady Da Flame, Kaizs, and Jev.

Dubbed a hard-hitting reggae compilation, the eight-track project was released under his Inna Mi House Music imprint and distributed by OneRPM.

According to CD Master, the project seamlessly blends “the wisdom of veterans with the fresh perspectives of emerging talents”.

“This project is a powerful sonic statement on life, spirituality, and resilience, and so far the feedback has been good. After a week of release it’s been playing on a lot of radio stations both locally and overseas,” he said. “Reggae juggling has been on a decline. There haven’t been many reggae projects released in recent times and the artistes as well as the listeners want more of that. I decided to do something to shift things a bit and, based on the feedback, people are grateful for that change. They’re saying the project is well put together and honestly that means so much to me.”

Highlighting that the compilation was crafted with special care, CD Master said he has also noticed a decline in the number of producers investing in up-and-coming talent. He said he wanted to also change that pattern by ensuring he voiced emerging acts alongside established artistes.

“Working with the artistes on this project was very easy because of the relationship I have established with them from my days of playing music and doing dubplates. I knew what I wanted and so when I brought the idea to them, played the beat, the juggling just became a positive vibe and they just found the perfect songs to voice,” he said. “The young artistes also held their own. They delivered well on the project and showed that they deserved the highlight. This project is expected to go places and I can’t wait to see what happens next. For me, it’s always about quality over quantity, and these eight tracks were carefully hand-picked to represent the message we hope to convey through the music.”
