High expectations for Pree Di Ratio on Saturday

Dwayne Bowes.

Dwayne Bowes — promoter of Pree Di Ratio — promises that this Saturday’s staging will be one for the books, especially for the ladies.

“As a patron first, and a promoter second, my aim was always to host an event that caters mostly to the ladies. From the drinks and food to the music — it’s all about them,” Bowes told the Jamaica Observer’s Splash.

Bowes is joined by co-promoters Phillip Martin and Sheldon Gray, who share the same vision of throwing a party where women are front and centre, not an afterthought.

“The name Pree Di Ratio isn’t just catchy — it’s a concept. Ratio speaks to the balance between male and female. And we’re tipping that scale in favour of the ladies. That means a DJ mix of 70 per cent ‘gyal tunes’ and 30 per cent ‘badness’, designed to keep the women moving and the energy high all night,” the promoter further explained.

Slated for April 26 at D’lux Lounge in Kingston, the line-up will include Tripple X, DJ Badabling, Di Unit Sound (Portmore), DJ MaddawgViralBoss, DJ Hollywood Hype (Black Terror Sound Intl – NY), and DJ Nior (Ocho Rios).

Ladies in the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector in and around Kingston will get free entry with their work IDs.

Adding that ticket sales have been going steadily, Bowes also explained that he and his team have got a better hang of planning the event this time around.

“The planning and implementation gets easier the second time around as most of the pieces would’ve already been in place from the first staging which would have laid the foundation for what is to come which is our most ambitious outing to date,” he said.
