KINGSTON, Jamaica— Jamaicans for Justice (JFJ) has condemned the shooting incident in Denham Town, West Kingston on Saturday, April 26, which resulted in the injury of two police constables and a female bystander.

JFJ, in a statement, said: “Whenever law enforcement officers are harmed in the line of duty, it constitutes an attack on the state itself, threatening the safety and stability of our communities.

The human rights group commended the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) and the Denham Town Criminal Investigations Branch for their prompt response and called for a thorough, transparent, and impartial investigation into the incident.

“Those guilty must be found quickly and brought before the courts for justice to be served,” JFJ added.
