The 2024 leg of Buju Banton’s Overcomer Tour ended on November 17 with a triumphant show at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The event drew an estimated 18,500 fans.
The tour officially started on August 23 at Amerant Bank Arena in Fort Lauderdale. That gig, which attracted over 15,000 fans, was preceded by sold-out shows at UBS Arena in Long Island on July 13 and 14.
At Barclays Center, Buju Banton performed for over 90 minutes, with guest appearances from Wayne Wonder, Ras Shiloh and Gramps Morgan.
A statement from Destine Media, the Grammy winner’s publicist, read: “This sold-out show follows a string of successful performances, making it Buju Banton’s third sold-out show in New York within five months and the sixth sold-out show on the Overcomer Tour to date.”
New dates for the United States will be announced soon, according to the statement. The Overcomer Tour is scheduled to continue on February 14-15 in St Thomas and St Croix in the US Virgin Islands.
On January 5 Buju Banton and Beres Hammond will stage the second of their Intimate concert at Plantation Cove in Priory, St Ann.
Shortly after the Fort Lauderdale event, shows in Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, California and Chicago were ‘rescheduled’. No reason was given for the postponements, nor have new dates been announced for those shows.
