KINGSTON, Jamaica— The Accountant General’s Department (AGD) is advising the public that there may be delays in contacting its office and receiving in-person services on Friday due to a disruption in the agency’s electrical services.

The advisory follows an incident on Thursday which resulted in a loss of power after a transformer blew, causing a fire just outside the premises of the AGD’s New Kingston office.

There were no reports of injuries, and all workers were accounted for after they evacuated the building.

The AGD has apologised for the inconvenience the disruption may cause.

In the meantime, the AGD said should members of the public need to contact the office, they can call: 876-922-8320-7; 876-829-2694; 876-803-0404 or send an email to [email protected].
