Two songs in the South Florida Top 100 Songs of 2024 sums up a successful year for Novel-T.
It also saw the release of Survivor, her second album.
I Love The Way at #13 and Survivor at #29 are her songs on that table, which is compiled annually by broadcaster Clinton Lindsay.
“It was a challenging, yet exciting and fulfilling year all in one. Last year was filled with some new and unexpected experiences for me, but I believe these were ordained to bring me to another level in my journey,” Novel-T told the Jamaica Observer.
The songs are produced by Hopeton Lindo and Novel-T’s husband Howard Perry, respectively. Both contributed to Survivor, which was released in August by P&N Publishing, the company she operates with Perry.
It came out eight years after Born To Love You, her first album. Survivor contains several songs that topped the South Florida Reggae Chart, also compiled by Lindsay.
“We were very confident in the work we had done on this project and were full of anticipation that it would do what we had hoped it would. So, I was really happy that what we hoped for, which was that the album would resonate with people on a deeper level, actually became a reality,” said Novel-T.
Originally from the August Town area of St Andrew, she developed her vocal and performing skills on the hotel and pageant circuit in Jamaica before migrating to the United States.
Lindo’s Favorite Girl topped the South Florida Top 100 Songs of 2024. Tun Up by Ginjah, Let Me Help You (Beres Hammond), Can I Call You Rose? (Anthony Cruz), and Not Taking No by Peter G complete the top five.
