The top performers of last year’s programme, Alecia Green, Mitzie Stewart, and Dorothy Price (from left), were honoured with special awards.
In an age where technology offers limitless possibilities, NCB Foundation is empowering Jamaicans to seize those opportunities with a share of J$20 million in grants through the Level Up Grant Programme.
For a fifth consecutive year, the foundation has partnered with Internet Income Jamaica (IIJ) to deliver digital skills training to unemployed and underemployed Jamaicans so that they can earn money online.
The programme offers interactive online courses focused on high-demand digital skills like artificial intelligence (AI) and content creation with live training sessions and personalised support from seasoned mentors.
According to the foundation in a press release, while the programme has always focused on empowering persons from vulnerable groups, Level Up is strengthening its efforts this year by collaborating with Project STAR, Jamaica Society for the Blind (JSB), Abilities Foundation, and The Domestic Violence Intervention Workshop facilitated by retired Deputy Commissioner of Police Novelette Grant.
“By collaborating with organisations committed to empowering underserved communities and vulnerable groups, we are strengthening our ability to create meaningful change,” said Andrew Pairman, NCB Foundation’s Deputy Chair. “Together, we are amplifying our impact and fulfilling NCB’s mission toward building a better Jamaica.”
In 2024, the Level Up programme saw 1,745 graduates earning close to J$24 million within two months.
“Once again, we’re thrilled to partner with NCB Foundation to bring game-changing opportunities to Jamaicans,” said Alicia Lyttle, Founder of IIJ. “Digital upskilling—especially with AI—is the key to staying ahead, and together, we’re making sure more people have the skills to thrive in today’s AI-driven world. It’s all about creating real opportunities and a brighter future for Jamaica”.
The application period is now open and closes on Sunday, March 16, 2025. Jamaicans eager to embrace new opportunities are invited to visit https://ncbscholarships.com/level-up-programme/ to apply.
