‘MAD DOG’ CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF A PROHIBITED WEAPON
A 24-year-old St James farmer has been charged with Wounding with Intent, Using a Firearm to Commit a Felony and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon in relation to the shooting injury of a man along Clinic Lane, Spring Mount, in the parish on Wednesday, April 16.
Charged is Chad Walker, otherwise known as ‘Mad Dog’ and ‘Johnny’.
Reports from the Montego Bay Police are that at about 5:00 p.m., Walker witnessed a man hurling stones at a house owned and occupied by his relative. He reportedly brandished a firearm and opened gunfire in the direction of the man, hitting him in the mouth and abdomen before fleeing the area on foot. The injured man was assisted to hospital, where he was treated.
A report was made to the police, and Walker was subsequently taken into custody. He was charged on Friday, April 18, after he was questioned in the presence of his attorney.
His court date is being finalised.
