KINGSTON, Jamaica– The Ministry of Labour and Social Security says it is actively investigating the legal status of a group of Chinese mechanics who operate the Whole Hearted Company Services Limited in Ferry Pen, St Andrew.
This probe follows reports that the Chinese nationals have been conducting business at the location without the necessary work permit and employment documentation.
The ministry, in a statement on Friday, said that while the investigation is ongoing, any irregularities or breaches identified will be thoroughly assessed.
“The ministry will ensure that appropriate corrective measures are taken and sanctions applied where necessary,” the labour ministry noted. “Additionally, once everything has been found to be in compliance with the law, steps will be taken to facilitate the resumption of operations under the proper conditions in the shortest possible time.”
The ministry said it is dedicated to finding a fair and reasonable solution to this matter and stands resolute in upholding the laws of Jamaica.
